Minneapolis is a beautiful city, but imagine seeing it covered in white stuff from the heaviest and deepest snowstorm of the season! The weekend of February 22-23, 2014, the roads, from highways to downtown avenues, were completely snow-covered for three days, without a single trace of concrete or asphalt to be seen! But, this didn’t dampen the spirits of thousands of hardy dog-loving residents who made their way to the Twin Cities Pet Expo and ultimately to the DoggerJogger bike dog leash display!
When I arrived at the Minneapolis Convention Center early Saturday morning, I set up the tables, bikes and informational videos, then braced for the rush. The winners for the weekend were the dogs and their owners who will be hitting the trails and by-ways with their bikes as soon as the weather turns toward spring!
One of the main reasons I like to take the DoggerJogger on the road is to give dog owners the chance to actually “test drive” the dog bike leash with their own dogs. I often say “every dog, every time” when talking about it, but it’s true, they all love it, owners and pets alike!
I love going “on the road again” to spread the DoggerJogger message far and wide, and always enjoy the friends I make along the way. It’s just a blast! After the frenzy at the booth each day, my day is not complete until I head out to mingle with the locals and really take advantage of what the city has to offer. My findings? Did you know the Twin Cities are home to some delicious BBQ and Italian! And, despite the snow and sub-zero temperatures, the Hilton Garden Inn’s fireside and hot coffee kept us warm, too. I’m already making plans to return, with the sun and warm temperatures, as early as June!
I want to see you at our next event, so please follow DoggerJogger on Twitter and “Like” us on Facebook so we can stay in touch throughout the upcoming 2014 national tour! The buttons are on the top right of this page! Thank you so much!
And remember, with the DoggerJogger Bike Dog Leash, “He’s no longer your dog, he’s your wingman!”
